At Edenton we understand that everyone is different. That’s why we are committed to meeting the unique physical and emotional needs of every resident in our independent and assisted living neighborhoods.

Through our SUCCESS Program, Edenton offers comprehensive services for residents with medical or rehabilitation needs, dementia, and psychiatric illnesses such as depression or bipolar disease. The SUCCESS Program provides an individualized approach to reducing hospitalization, managing difficult behaviors, and maximizing our residents’ independent abilities. Available services include:

  • Clinical evaluations
To assess behavioral, emotional, and cognitive functioning.

  • Medication management
To determine and administer the appropriate level of medication for optimum behavioral health.

  • Neuro-psych testing
On site nero-psychological assessment to understand a person‘s thinking skills, perception, memory, problem solving and responses.

  • Individual and group therapy

  • Family consultation and counseling
To reduce stress and assist family members in dealing with their loved one’s behavioral health challenges.

The SUCCESS Program encourages our residents to live as independently as possible, with easy access to professional staff, quality care, and the comprehensive services they need to function successfully in the community.

Edenton Retirement Community is one of only two independent and assisting living communities in Maryland to offer comprehensive psychiatric services. The SUCCESS Program is based on the CARF-accredited behavioral health program at Potomac Valley Nursing and Wellness Center. Our highly qualified and caring staff includes a psychiatrist, psychiatric and registered nurses, and certified psychiatric technicians.
